Device management with Relution
Apple Mobile Device Management.
iPads and other Apple devices need the right apps, settings and administrative responsibilities. With Relution, we support central device management, from preparation and enrolment to changes during everyday use.
Establish how devices will be used
A device assigned to one person has different requirements from a shared device pool. We establish who will use the devices, which applications they need and how lessons or courses are organised.
The technical assessment covers models, operating system versions and existing management. Access to Apple School Manager, certificates and responsibility for maintaining them also matter. Together, these determine a suitable way to enrol devices in Relution.
Relution · Apple device management
From existing devices to everyday use.
A staged approach links technical prerequisites with classroom use.
01
Check the starting point
Device ownership, current management and Apple access.
02
Enrol devices
Choose a suitable enrolment method and assign groups in Relution.
03
Assign apps & profiles
Prepare settings and licensed apps for the intended use.
04
Pilot & rollout
Test selected devices, then agree rollout and ongoing administration.
Plan beyond setup: certificate and token renewals, app changes and device replacements need clear responsibilities.
Bring devices into management
For suitable organisation-owned devices, Automated Device Enrollment can be used through Apple School Manager. We help establish the required connections and assign devices to the management environment. Devices already in use are assessed according to their current configuration.
Enrolment, supervision and device ownership affect which settings can be managed centrally. A pilot with selected devices helps check sign-in, configuration and intended use before the remaining devices are introduced.
- Check the inventory and existing enrolment
- Account for Apple integration and required certificates
- Organise and enrol devices
- Test the intended configuration on pilot devices
Deploy the apps and settings people need
In Relution, devices are organised into appropriate groups and assigned suitable configurations. These may include Wi-Fi settings, restrictions and applications needed by a learning group or room. The selection reflects how the devices will actually be used.
For app deployment, we account for existing licences and the Apple connection. Changes are prepared so that the people responsible know which devices are affected and what should be checked before the next lesson or course begins.
Plan the rollout around school activities
Devices need to be configured, assigned, distributed and understood in everyday use. We agree the technical sequence and the input needed from your organisation. This includes who reports new devices and who requests changes to apps or settings.
The network is part of that plan: enrolment, app downloads and subsequent use all require suitable connections. Wi-Fi capacity and access requirements are therefore considered alongside device management.
Manage the full device lifecycle
Apps, operating systems and learning groups change over time. We support agreed administration, configuration changes and troubleshooting. A device’s assignment also needs attention when it is replaced or removed from use.
Certificates and tokens have expiry dates. Responsibilities and renewals are therefore considered alongside app and device-group maintenance. This gives device management a clear place in ongoing operations.
Questions about Apple MDM
Can existing iPads be brought into management?
We check the model, operating system, ownership, enrolment status and existing management. These determine the available steps and whether devices need to be set up again.
Is migration always possible without resetting devices?
No. Migration options depend on factors including the operating system, enrolment and management status. We assess the existing devices before deciding how to proceed.
Who is responsible for Apple access and certificates?
Access rights and responsibilities are agreed with your organisation. This includes responsibility for expiry dates, renewals and required approvals.
How will your Apple devices be used?
Your device inventory, intended use and existing Apple management provide a useful starting point for planning enrolment, apps and ongoing support.
